Our Musical Director is Patrick Barrett
Patrick Barrett joined Brockham Choral Society in September 2016 – and is loving the journey so far! He was educated in Ireland, reading music education at Trinity College Dublin and the National Conservatory of Ireland. His post-graduate training was at Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary under the Erasmus programme, and at the Royal Welsh College of Music where he completed an MMus in choral conducting under Neil Ferris. Currently he is a musicianship tutor with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and assistant conductor with the National Children’s Choir, and conductor of Farnham Youth Choir Boy’s Choir. During term time Patrick works in London in the Ark Schools in the delivery of their choral music programme alongside taking other various youth, office and prison choirs across the city. When not conducting or singing, Patrick ‘relaxes’ with a game of hockey, celebrating with a Saturday night boogie!
Patrick and Brockham Choral are very much looking forward to taking the choir forward in its musical development, singing with joy and confidence to the benefit of both choir members and audiences.
